Every time I see a Turkey Tail Mushroom, the concentric layers remind me of an agate geode’s layers, and vice versa. These visual homophones, things in nature that mimic each other, remind me that all things are connected and the wonder of nature ties them all together. And the mutualistic symbiosis of fungi and tree are certainly one of the coolest wonders we’ve been able to figure out. A connection so invisible yet so important to such a fundamental part of life seems like the best definition of magic that I can think of!
